Frequently Asked Questions

Everything B2B buyers need to know about sourcing makeup sponges, powder puffs, and beauty tools from Joyning — MOQ, materials, certifications, lead times and more.

Joyning's standard MOQ is 500 units per SKU for most products including makeup sponges, powder puffs, and beauty accessories. For custom OEM/ODM orders with unique shapes, materials, or branding, the MOQ is typically 1,000–2,000 units depending on complexity. Sample orders of 5–20 units are available before committing to a full production run.

Joyning offers makeup sponges in three primary material categories:

Latex-free hydrophilic polyurethane foam — the most common material for beauty blenders, lightweight and skin-safe.

Microfiber — ultra-soft surface for precise product application and minimal product absorption.

Silicone — non-porous, hygienic, easy to clean, suitable for liquid foundation and serum application.

All materials are dermatologist-tested and comply with EU REACH and US FDA regulations.

Lead times vary by order type:

Standard catalog products: 15–25 business days after payment confirmation.

Custom OEM orders (new shape, color, or material): 30–45 business days, including 7–10 days for sample approval.

Custom ODM orders requiring new mold development: 50–70 business days.

Rush production is available for an additional fee. Joyning recommends placing orders 60–90 days before your retail launch date to allow buffer for logistics and customs.

Yes. Joyning provides full private label services including custom packaging design, logo printing, color matching, and retail-ready packaging (boxes, blister packs, pouches, and display sets). You can supply your own artwork files (AI, PDF, or EPS format at 300 DPI) or work with Joyning's in-house design team. All packaging can include barcodes, ingredient lists, and multilingual labels.

Joyning products comply with the following international standards:

• EU Cosmetic Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 for skin-contact safety

• REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 restricting hazardous substances

• US FDA 21 CFR requirements for cosmetic applicators

• ISO 9001:2015 quality management system certification

• SGS and Intertek third-party testing available upon request

Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, and test reports can be provided for each product line.

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer): You provide the design specifications — shape, material, color, size — and Joyning manufactures to your exact requirements. Best for brands with established product designs.

ODM (Original Design Manufacturer): You select from Joyning's existing designs and Joyning handles the full manufacturing process. You can still customize colors, packaging, and branding. Best for brands looking for faster time-to-market.

Joyning also offers hybrid ODM-to-OEM paths, where you iterate from an existing design to a fully custom product over multiple production cycles.

All Joyning products use skin-safe, dermatologist-tested materials. Latex-free formulations are standard across all sponge products. Materials are free from phthalates, BPA, heavy metals, and formaldehyde.

Antimicrobial variants treated with silver-ion technology are available for powder puffs and cleansing tools — these inhibit bacterial growth by up to 99.9% and are particularly suited for acne-prone customers.

Makeup sponges (beauty blenders) are foam applicators designed for wet or dry use — best for blending liquid foundations, concealers, and cream products. They absorb some product into the foam.

Powder puffs are flat or dome-shaped applicators made from velvet or microfiber, primarily designed for dry powder products such as setting powder, compact powder, or blush. They apply product with a pressing or sweeping motion and absorb minimal product.

From a B2B perspective, makeup sponges have higher repeat purchase rates (semi-disposable), while powder puffs typically ship as accessories with compact or powder kit products.
